Pres spox: Kremlin hopes US not to fulfill tycoon sanctions threat

MOSCOW, Mar 5 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin hopes that the mad impulses of the U.S. to introduce sanctions against the Russian businessmen will remain only media statements, spokesman for the president Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.

"Firstly, no one has introduced sanctions against the Russian businessmen yet. We still hope that, let's say, these mad impulses will remain on the pages of media and will not find a fertile ground in the U.S. establishment. This is why hypothetical statements are hardly appropriate here," Peskov said.

Bloomberg reported citing sources that the U.S. and the U.K. are considering more sanctions against Russia, including measures targeted at the sovereign debt and businesspeople.
